If you don’t know how to answer that question, I pity you. If you didn’t so much as recognize that as a word, you could be beyond all help.
Believe it or not, this is a serious matter. I am afraid we have collectively forgotten how to go fishin’.
Fishin’, in case you weren’t aware, is rooted in relaxation and is meant to be enjoyed. It is best done in the company of friends and family. Those who have mastered the art of fishin’ are good storytellers, and they don’t care what bites—if anything—so long as they have a good time.
Fishing, on the other hand, brings stress and aggravation. Folks who claim to like fishing rush around, always concerned with “results.” Fishing requires they not use bobbers, worms (or tin cans, for that matter), and sometimes even landing nets. It is a strange and expensive endeavor.
In case you’re unsure which side of the fence you’re on, I have prepared this flowchart so you might not stray from the path. May your lines stay wet, your beer stay cold, and your kids learn how to tell the best tales.
